What is the best new player gun/package

I want a good quality gun and a compressed air tank, but a cheap one

I don't know what kind of paintball I'm going for yet so I would like one that works for long and short range...

also, is a nitrogen tank the same as an HPA tank?

Basically the tanks are the same, it is the gas that varies. High Pressure Air can be filled far beyond the limitations of Nitrogen.

Check out ANS for packages. they have many bargain priced marker packages that more than fulfill the needs of newer shooter. I suggest the Smart Parts Vibe and SP1 as they give an equal flavor of needs for rec-ball and speed-ball shooters. i noticed that you did not mention a mask. you will need to get a good quality mask. dont skimp on this! if you can visit a shop, try on various masks to see what best fits you.

I agree with the Smart Parts Vibe it's not a expensive gun but has the ability to upgrade. The tank all depends on the size and what the tank is made for, prices vary alot on tanks. But check the package deals on ANSgear.com they include everything u need to just pull it out the box and play
