Tech Support on GenX2 Regulators? (Also some GX-3 questions)
Howdy,
I picked up a used GX-3 Chaos Series Autococker recently. I figured it would need some tweaking and some love because eBay can often be like Forrest Gump's proverbial box of chocolates. Long story short, the GenX2 has a nasty leak. Air is coming straight out of the bottom center hole.
I can't find any sort of parts list, diagrams, or exploded views of this reg online so I can compare what I see inside mine vs what it should look like. I'm comfortable taking it apart completely and looking for flaws in o-rings and the like, I just don't know what I'm looking for. While I am comfortable working on it myself, I may not be familiar with technical pneumatic terms; so if someone starts instructing me to "adjust the actuating seal coupling" or something I may be lost.
I already took the reg all the way apart, looked for any debris, checked the integrity of the o-rings and that clear seal thing on the plunger, etc. I don't know what half this stuff is but I was very gentle when dissecting it. I lightly oiled it with some KC Trouble Free and put it all back together, no change. This tells me perhaps I am missing an o-ring or seal or something.
Also, there is one other leak on the gun. The 3-way is leaking like mad. originally it was spewing out from the barbs so I turned the air down from the Jackhammer and that seems to have stopped. Now the air is just spewing out the back of it. This makes me think there is a bad o-ring on that.... what is that rod inside the 3-way called? The actuating rod? I don't know. I'm thinking one of the o-rings is bad. If I pick up the GX3 seal kit from you guys are those o-rings in it? I may just replace all the seals/rings on this gun just to be safe.
Another thing- Where does one find a wrench tiny enough to tighten those 1/8" barbs on the 3-way? Cripes that's tiny. It looked like perhaps a socket wrench was the only way. It looks like the previous owner went at it with his teeth or something because they're just beat up and munged to hell.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
